At Aritimi Design Studio, we want to create something different utilizing 3D printing. Every model is a work of art, designed by us from scratch. Our original ideas go through a creative process of brainstorming sketching and 3D software modeling. Next we 3D print prototypes to test and refine our designs before we make a final version. The material we use is a plant-based polymer called PLA (polylactic acid) which is sustainable, eco-friendly and non-toxic.
All ideas and designs are created by us. All printing of items is done by us in our home studio.
Much like the Arts and Crafts Movement in the early Industrial Age, we want to bring an elevated aesthetic to the technology of 3D printing while remaining true to its functional roots.
We want to improve upon the standards of the medium, which we feel has been debased by frivolities. We want to create art pieces that are functional as well as beautiful to elevate the home and add a sense of creativity.
Often in 3D printing, we get some amazing unpredictable results in color variation, meaning that even if we print the same design from the same material, there is no guarantee that it will come out the same each time. We embrace this variability, much like the natural world which influences us. All of this leads to one-of-a-kind and limited editions of our work.
